Who we are

Rooted in Tradition. Growing Something New.

Collins Farm is a family-run farm near Standard, Alberta, with roots stretching back to 1913. For generations, our farm has been built around agriculture, hard work, family, and a deep connection to the land. Traditionally a grain and cow-calf operation, our farm is now expanding in a new direction—one garden row, berry patch, fruit tree, and season at a time.

Our market garden began simply: with a love of growing food, a large family garden, and a desire to provide fresh fruits and vegetables for our own family. Inspired in part by the gardens of generations before us, we planted fruit trees, expanded our vegetable garden, and began growing strawberries.

Then one season, we had more strawberries than our family could possibly use, so we started sharing them with others. The response surprised us—people genuinely loved them and kept asking for more. That’s when a small idea began to grow: maybe we had something special worth sharing.

From there, a new chapter of Collins Farm began to take shape.

Today, we grow a variety of farm-fresh fruits and vegetables, including strawberries, raspberries, haskaps, and—coming soon—Saskatoon berries. We also offer preserves, U-pick experiences, pre-picked orders, farmers’ market sales, and seasonal pop-up farm store hours.

Our goal is simple: to grow quality local food and create opportunities for people to connect with where their food comes from.

We also know that we’re still growing—and we’re proud to be open about that.

We are in an exciting stage of building and developing this part of our farm. Like any garden, growth takes time. New ideas are taking root, our offerings continue to evolve, and each season teaches us something new. Plans change with the weather, harvests don’t always follow a schedule, and we’re continually learning, adapting, and shaping what Collins Farm will become.

And that’s part of our story.

We believe there is something special about growing a business the same way we grow our garden: with patience, hard work, care, a willingness to learn, and gratitude for every season. What we offer is real—food grown on our family farm, hands-on experiences in our garden, and a genuine desire to welcome people into a small piece of farm life.

Whether you visit us for a U-pick experience, find us at a local farmers’ market, stop by during our pop-up store hours, or place an order for fresh-picked produce, we’re grateful to have you be part of what we’re building.

Collins Farm is growing—and we know we could not do this without the incredible people who help make it all possible.

To our staff, who work alongside us through the long days, busy harvests, and everything in between, thank you for your hard work, dedication, and willingness to grow with us.

And to our customers, friends, family, and community—thank you for supporting us, encouraging us, sharing our name, visiting the farm, finding us at markets, and continuing to come back season after season. Every order, every visit, every kind word, and every bit of support means more to us than you know.

We are incredibly grateful to each and every one of you. Collins Farm continues to grow because of the people who believe in what we are building—and we feel very fortunate to have you growing alongside us. 🍓🥕🌾
